INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY 1967 CESSNA 210 |
|
| Instrument panel assemblies are a
more comprehensive instrument panel product than OEM replacement panels and switch
panel overlays. They replace both the switch panel,
radio rack and top instrument panels together with a Cessna "U" style control
column assembly. This is necessary on many Cessna aircraft to correct layout issues that cannot be remedied otherwise, due to the "T" control column preventing a full height radio rack. This is seen in all the early Cessna 170, 172, 175, 180, 182 & 185 series aircraft. The OEM layout on these aircraft typically does not have a standard and desirable 'six pack' layout. This can be easily obtained with the Avion STC'd control column modification allowing a full height radio rack plus an approved instrument layout. To achieve this very desirable layout, the Avion panel design moves the radio rack closer to the starboard side of the aircraft. This requires that the switch panel be replaced together with the instrument panels and radio racks. Most Instrument Panel Assemblies can be supplied pre-assembled and pre-wired. The aircraft bus cables are terminated in a CPC series 2 connector. Approach-System cabling can also be supplied installed.

| 1972 CESSNA 172 | |
|
On this Cessna 175 aircraft the original control system had a "T" style control column, which precludes a center stacked radio layout. Avion Instrument Panel Assemblies install a modified Cessna "U" control column to enable the center stacked radio configuration. The replacement "U" control column re-connects to the aileron cables as before. This installation also has Avion Control Wheels and Glare Shield. |
