Avion has received FAA-PMA approval for a replacement Piper control wheel. This wheel is a direct replacement for original Piper 'bow tie' and 'rams horn' control wheels.  Installed in the same manner as the original Piper yokes they are supplied with all installation hardware.  Most early Pipers have a .75" diameter torque tube (shaft) and later models have 1.125" diameter tubes.  The control wheel is supplied with the appropriate installation kit to fit either of these shafts. 

The aluminum cast wheel is cored for internal cables, which can be routed through the torque tube or alternatively with a 'coiled cord' to the panel.  An integral map light is available.  The wheels are available in Black or Piper Tan with the center hub available in a choice of colors, and with the embroidered Piper logo. 

These control wheels are  FAA-PMA approved replacements for the original equipment Piper P/N 62818  yokes, which are subject to Airworthiness Directive AD 64-06-06.  Avion replacement wheels are an approved alternate method of compliance  (AMOC) for AD-64-0606.
